Enjoying a day at the Skopelos beaches surely increases your appetite.

So after a long day swimming you need something nutritious to upgrade your energy levels such as grilled shrimp. Shrimp is a unique source of antioxidants while being extremely delicious. Local restaurants offer them in a great variety of recipes, mostly fried or grilled, with red sauce or other creative side snacks.

Take a look on how we cook grilled shrimp and reward yourself with this exquisite taste after your day at the Skopelos beaches.

  • In a bowl we mix garlic, half a cup of olive oil, half a cup of tomato sauce, 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, a pinch of fresh pepper and salt, and finally red wine vinegar. We whisk until all ingredients blend well together,
  • We add the shrimp to the bowl and stir.
  • We refrigerate the bowl for 20 minutes and we preheat the grill (medium heat).
  • Then, we thread the shrimp onto skewers and grill for 4 minutes per side until they acquire a dark orange colour.
  • We place the shrimp on a plate and serve them with a mix of olive oil and lemon sauce that accentuates their taste.

There is no better place to taste grilled shrimp than the Greek islands. Mostly because the shrimp is super fresh (the local fishermen bring them out daily) and secondly because the local chefs are extremely experienced in cooking them.
